OtherKin Pride- Believe in yourself by moonrays138 OtherKin Pride- Believe in yourself by moonrays138
Yes, I am an otherkin and damn proud :#1: Anyone else who's like me should feel proud as well. Because it isn't something to be ashamed about! :hug:

Thank you for the artists of the pictures I used, and sorry I don't have your usernames! ^^;

I would love to get to know more otherkin, if someone is brave enough to share what they are with me :boing: I can assure ya'll, I ain't gonna tell anyone if ya do!

By the way, I'm a dragon otherkin if anyone is curious :nod:

Unfortunately, yes; suppressing the animalistic side is known to be an effective yet upsetting defence mechanism for those who fear or don't understand otherkinianism. I don't entirely blame them, either; society never taught them any different. There were no classes, no information, no warning so it's no surprise that certain people just can't handle being so different from everybody else. It's a sad and unfortunately common predicament that occurs everyday - it's why I'm so happy to find other people like me who don't suppress their kintypes but instead, accepts and embraces it (:

they need to learn to enjoy to be who they are and not fear but live how they are. fear about bieng a kin is like you are scared of se yourself in a mirror so its not good to fear your kin

Yeah, but like I said; people are scared of being treated negatively for who they are. A key concept of embracing your true self is to act like your true self around people. You can imagine how hard it would be to howl like a wolf or hiss like a jaguar when you're in a room filled with people giving you odd stares and horrible comments. But still, it's not good to hide your kin. You're special, your kin is special. Just embrace it already!

If you're looking for a good site filled with otherkin and therians alike, I could give you one? I'm a mod on it, and everybody's helped me so much. The site contains heaps of information, including how to meditate and how to find your kintype (:

It's not unheard of that someone could be a werewolf as well as a therian/otherkin. I talked to a vampire whom was also a dragon otherkinian once, it's actually quite more common than you might think ^^
Also, quick note, otherkin are more closely related to people who identify as fantasy/unrealistic creatures, like dragons and phoenix whereas therians often identify with real animals like cats and lizards :) However, this doesn't go for everyone and you can simply call yourself an otherkinian if that's what you're comfortable with!
